One of the iconic churches in Lyons, NY was looking to upgrade there current three flood lighting system with a more energy efficient and attractive lighting system for their church. The current lighting system on the exterior of the building was not cost effective and they were looking to upgrade and add a new flag pole as well.
We were able to outfit the church with a new Pulse Start Metal Halite Floodlight at 25,000 lumens and with 87% efficiency, far surpassing there current energy consuming lighting system. Other benefits of their new one light system are the long life lamp, aluminum housing and tempered shock resistant glass that gives off more vibrant and better lighting then their antiquated system.
They were very happy with both the installation results as well as the energy saving products they were provided.

We provided safety and security for a family in Palmyra, NY. This 11kw whole house generator and new 12 circuit transfer switch will keep this family up and running if a power outage may occur. This Generac generator will get them through days or weeks without utility power.
This generator will provide reliability to power through the most severe outages giving them all the comforts of home when the local utility company can't.
We received a winter emergency call from a Williamson customer stating her electric company had been out to her house because she only had half the power to her house and that her furnace was on the part of the home that was not working.
It had been determined that the underground wire to the transformer pole had gone bad. The service technicians were out almost immediately to make the necessary repairs to get her electric back up and running, but the customer was certain she may experience power loss again in the future and opted to have us install an 8kw generator with a 10 circuit load center.
This generator will now give our homeowner a sense of comfort and security when and if she experiences an outage in the future. A new standby generator for her home will provide power during our sometimes very hostile winters.
We believe generators are becoming more of a necessity in our area due to frequent power outages. This customer is proof that it can happen to you.
A very successful business in Newark, NY had decided to expand their adult living community and requested the assistance of Marlock Electric, Inc. to help them make their upgrade successful. We both install and service whole house stand-by generators. In this instance, we were going to a home, referred to us by a local contractor, to troubleshoot a red light on a generator installed by another company. This company never explained to the customer that the unit should be maintained yearly and they had owned the generator many years unmaintained. We quickly diagnosed the issue and made adequate repairs. The customer was also left without a key or manual to even know what to do with their generator, to which we supplied them with as well. We took the time to go over the operation of the unit and set their minds at ease knowing that we are available 24 hours a day 7 days a week for emergency service should they run into another issue.
We expect many years of a well maintained and durable generator should the power go out in their area at anytime. We service all brands of generators and are certified to install several major brands.

Our Project Estimator made a convenient time to meet with Denny F to look over her electric issues and was able to show her where her panel box had been getting wet and was now rotted out and in much need of replacement.
While the Estimator was on site she was also concerned about other outlets and electrical items, and we were able to show her where they were not up to code and helped her in getting the other items up to code as well, keeping a fire hazard at bay.

If you have ever been in your electrical panel box you might wonder what all those switches are for? For most these panels have labels that identify what each goes to in case of an outage in areas of your home or office. One of the most troubling issues for most people that are not familiar with electric is being able to tell what switch needs attending when power goes out. The best way to accomplish this is to label the panel box for every circuit that is used. The business owners of this Macedon, NY storefront had a very hard time telling what these circuits went to and typically tracing them out can take hours to figure out what circuit goes where, or for that matter some are one multiple circuits. There's no telling how these panels are wired in except by connecting with the original installer or by labeling the panel box accordingly. We provide this service for many businesses and homeowners alike. It truly is helpful when these panels are coded correctly and we can schedule an appointment to give you peace of mind as well. Call today and our office will be happy to schedule an appointment convenient for you.
A Newark, NY homeowner was referred to Marlock Electric, Inc. by their real-estate agent. The customers were in the market of selling their home and found that some of the exterior electric had been worn over time and was in need of replacement. The inspection found that the exterior sheathing for the service entrance cable had deteriorated and was in need of replacement. Also, the mast for the electric service above the roof was not tethered to counter the tension of the service pole and the mast. This could cause the pole to bend from the tension placed on it by the service to the house. The inspection also found the panel box cover had been removed and needed to be replaced securely to prevent electric shock. In order for this to pass inspection and allow the house to sell, our technicians would need to replace the weathered SEU cable, update the grounding per code and ground to the water meter as well as install a new guide wire on the riser.
The job was completed in about four hours and the homeowner was thrilled! This would allow them to market their home and sell it too.

Our technician was able to troubleshoot and repair this and get their propane pump up and working again. We provide both residential as well as commercial troubleshooting and repair work. Marlock Electric installed all the lighting at Pier 53, a new restaurant in Wolcott, NY. Pier 53 is located on Sodus Bay with a great view of the water, and focuses on serving great food with great entertainment. This restaurant is an open air bar that is open all year, even in the winter. Our team installed LED recessed can lighting on sloped ceilings as well as multiple ceiling fans. Among the other things our team installed at Pier 53, was a 400 amp overhead electrical service, electrical power for the kitchen equipment as well as power for the bar area, lights for all equipment, and exterior lighting. We hope all the customers enjoy the atmosphere inside and out.
The Terrace at Newark is an assisted living home with multiple units each containing it's own set of rooms, and a dining room. To support their growth and addition of new elderly residents, The Terrace needed to create another unit to maintain comfortable living spaces for all residents. We had the opportunity to do the electrical work in the new wing (i.e. in the residents' appartments, the hallway, dining room, and new entrance). Pictured, is the new dining room, which makes transportation much easier for the residents living in the new wing, as they do not have to walk as far to the other dining rooms. We were so happy to be part of the project.
These customers called us to install a generator so they never have to go without power (even in those cold winter storms New York tends to get, or the common summertime thunderstorms). Installed from start to finish is a 22kw Generac generator with a 200amp SE transfer switch. Our technicians ensured proper set up of the meter, positioning it carefully so that the line wasn't too tight and did not pull the meter out. These customers in Clyde, NY now can have total peace of mind knowing they will never have to suffer in a power outage. We love providing our customers with a sense of relief and security so that they never have to face these situations.
Marlock Electric had the pleasure of installing all new lighting in Marshall Exteriors new home improvement showroom, and offices. This customer elected to build small scale homes to accent his building products and we installed exterior lighting as if it were a normal home. LED high bay lights were installed on the ceiling in the showroom to illuminate the small scale homes, as well as LED recessed cans on some of the displays. Throughout the offices, LED flat panels were installed to create a bright & lively workplace for employees at Marshall Exteriors. Our team was happy to be a part of this project and the growth of Marshall Exteriors.
This customer originally called us to replace the screw-in fuse box she had in her home. When our project estimator arrived, he expressed his concern over it being a huge fire hazard. Fuse boxes are found in many older homes and they are very outdated nowadays as they can't handle the electrical load for her every day household equipment to run. Many fuse boxes that our technicians see, are hazardous due to overloading the fuses which lead to blown fuses, as well as modifications homeowners try to make. For example, many people plug in too many electrical appliances to one outlet, which can lead to multiple blown fuses. Most people then replace that fuse with a bigger fuse attempting to fix the problem by making sure the fuse doesn't blow anymore. The problem with that is the wires are not rated for the bigger fuse, but are only rated for the original one which creates a huge fire hazard because it can severely damage the wiring. Overall, fuse boxes do not have the amperage needed to run today's modern conventions, making them extremely unsafe. Our project estimator recommended she upgrade her service to avoid any future problems and improve the safety of her home. The customer realized the need for an upgraded service and was thankful Marlock Electric caught the problem when we did. Our technicians successfully upgraded her service, and moved the service and meter to the opposite corner of the home. We are happy to help customers solve dangerous electrical problems in their homes, making them feel much safer.
A customer in North Rose called us to service his generator for his yearly maintenance. Yearly generator maintenance is very important to ensure your generator can run efficiently in case of a power outage. It helps generators run longer as well so you do not have to purchase a new one as soon, which really saves you money in the long run. A generator that is well maintained, can last for about 30 years!
Marlock Electric was the chosen electrical contractor for this new build project called the villas of Parkwood Heights. These duplex homes are within a senior living community and are for people who do not want to deal with the stress of owning a home anymore, but want to keep the freedom it brings. The community is filled with couples who are either retired, plan on retiring, or who just want to be in a community with couples similar to them. Each villa is protected by a 22 kw Generac generator, installed by our technicians. If the power ever goes out, these elderly couples will never have to worry about keeping warm, their pipes freezing, or food going bad. This sense of protection and security makes the community much more enjoyable and stress-free, which is the feel that the owners want residents to feel.
Our team installed electrical services for each villa, as well as all the new lighting. The new lights that our team installed, varies from different types of LED lighting such as LED recessed cans, surface mounts, vanity lighting, dusk to dawn exterior lighting, etc. All electrical wiring was also run by our team to give power for all electrical appliances (i.e. washer, dryer, and all kitchen appliances), entertainment systems (such as televisions, desktop computers, radios), as well as air conditioning and fans on those hot summer days, or heat throughout the winter.
Also within this community, are independent apartments suitable for senior living, with around the clock care. Our team is always going back to complete tasks within those apartments and buildings whether it's to upgrade lighting, or service an existing problem.
A manufacturing company contacted our office and expressed their interest in having their lighting upgraded to something more energy efficient. At the time they contacted us, they had high bay light fixtures with HID lamps which are not very energy efficient and actually contain toxic material on the inside. With HID lighting, a higher voltage is required as the light heats up and as the light ages which causes the lights to fade over time. There is also a warm-up/cool down period when the lights are turned on and off.
Our team installed new LED commercial grade high bay fixtures designed specifically for warehouses like the one our team was working in. These lights offer high efficiency and a much longer life span than the old HID lighting, and illuminate instantly at full brightness. With a decrease in wattage by 250 watts per fixture, this company is saving money as each fixture burns every day for about 16-20 hours throughout 2 shifts of employees hard at work. These new LED fixtures will far out perform the old HID lighting and everyone within the company is pleased to see the difference in illumination, while knowing they are saving money and being more energy efficient.
At this customer's home, our team began our work by upgrading their 100 amp service to a 200 amp service while relocating it to the front of the home, as well as installing a 100 amp sub-panel. While our technicians were in the homeowner's basement, they noticed that the wiring was very unsafe, that the connections were not in an approved junction box and that the box was unsheilded. Our team made the needed corrections to improve the safety of this home. Our technicians also upgraded the washer circuit to a GFCI as outlets in a wet location, or a location that could possibly get wet, should always have GFCI outlets. These particular outlets (ground fault circuit interrupters) are very important to have in bathrooms, kitchens, laundry rooms (any room with a sink basically) because these outlets can sense a leak or imbalance in the electrical current, and cut the power before someone is shocked. While on the path of improving safety conditions in the laundry room, our technicians also recommended that the dryer circuit be switched to a 4 wire conductor as they are much safer and are better able to prevent electrical shock. Lastly, the lighting in the basement was updated and three way switching was installed, so that the lights could be controlled for 2 different locations.
Alot of older homes are not up to code for electrical safety, and in order to bring them up to code, multiple steps need to be taken, such as the projects completed at this home in Wolcott, NY.
This customer was planning on having an AC unit installed, but the heating and cooling company told him that his electrical panel was not sufficient for the install. The type of electrical panel that this customer had was a Federal Pacific Electric panel, which are known to have a high risk of breaker malfunction and fire. This means that when the system is overloaded and the breaker malfunctions, it can't trip and shut off the power, which can lead to fires. Because the addition of the AC unit requires much more power in the home than normal, it is important to make sure that the electrical panel can handle the amount of electricity. It is likely that the system would not have been able to handle the extra power being used, which makes the risk of electrical overload far greater, and because of the panel that this homeowner had, it put his house and family in danger of a fire. The heating and cooling salesman contacted our office and explained that the customer needed an upgraded electrical panel, and that they also were interested in a whole house generator. After our project estimator arrived at the home and gave the customer a quote, we received word that the customers wished to have the jobs completed. Our crew installed a new 200 amp service that would provide ample power for their new AC unit, and is a far safer option. A 16 kw Generac generator was also installed, so that the homeowners would never be without power, and could have peace of mind during every storm. If the power ever goes out in the summer, all their neighbors will want to go the house that is now protected by the automatic standby generator, as that house will still have the AC unit keeping the house cool.
When most people move into a new home, there are often many projects to be completed such as painting, carpeting, cleaning, etc. but how many of us think about the electrical problems/needs the house may have? A few months ago, one of our customers contacted us because they had just purchased a new house and there were multiple electric needs that needed to be met. After moving into the house, they found that the dryer was tripping the circuit breaker, the plug behind the stove was loose, and that the basement had a very minimal number of outlets. Aside from that, the homeowners wanted to have the electric inspected to make sure it was up to code and safe. These customers also wanted to have motion sensor security lights installed outside to provide them with a sense of security in their new home.
To fix these problems in the new home, our technicians decided it was best to furnish and install a new dryer circuit, breaker, and outlet in the basement, as well as a new cord on the dryer. New outlets were furnished and installed in the basement so there were more options for the location of electrical items, and a broken light switch was replaced down there as well. Our technicians also reattached her electric stove receptacle, and installed two new exterior lights, with the new ones being motion sensor lights. All of the electric in the home was now able to pass inspection and is up to code/safe. It is very important to make sure your electrical is safe in your new home and to get familiar with it so you can prevent any problems.

This recently retired snowbird was looking for a way to enjoy the warmer months here in NY. They contacted us to discuss power needs so they could travel back North during the warmer months and have a place to park their RV. We were able to build them an electric service that would power their RV as well as a good pump for their water connection. Not they have all of the luxuries of the home right here on a nice private piece of property that they own.
The Village of Newark welcomed this new Marshalls Dept store to the area. This job consisted of relocating all of the existing electrical service equipment as well as some new panels, all new led lighting fixtures throughout the building, a new fire alarm system, wiring for new HVAC units as well as new power drops throughout the store. It was exciting to see the job come to a close and watch the customers line up for the grand opening.
This customer had contacted our office to inquire about installing a automatic standby generator. Once we were able to do a site evaluation to determine the necessary load in the event of a outage we determined it was best to go with this new 26kw generator. This 26kw is the largest air cooled unit that Generac has on their market and was perfect for this install. This install was a little more challenging as we needed to go up and above the ceiling with our conduit and wire. Never the less the project turned out great and the customer was extremely happy.
This project involved a complete renovation of an existing manufacturing office area. This project had some drop ceilings as well as open ceilings. We used a suspended led linear fixture for the open area which blended in nice with the blacked out ceiling. In the areas with drop ceilings we used led flat panels to provide plenty of illumination for the tasks at hand. There were some specialty fixtures which showcased the main lobby area.
