This customer in Rochester called us to upgrade her electrical service from a 100 amp to a 200 amp service. This request was to accommodate additional electrical loads being added to their home. This will allow for additional circuits to be added to her electrical system without overloading the current wiring. This request is common due to the fact that many older homes only had a 100 amp service installed at the time it was built. The customers upgraded 200 amp service now has more circuits which is helpful if your home uses a lot of electricity, which means there is a lower chance of overload, creating a safer electrical system overall. Thanks to the upgraded service, their home is now less prone to fires and overloaded circuits. This particular project involved relocating the existing meter due to clearance violations per the National Electric Code.
