Lighting needs for commercial building require upgrades
Challenge
A local propane company was struggling to see in the parking area up to the building and at their building as well as their storage area due to limited lighting in and around the area, as the building was in a rural area of Red Creek, NY. The building had been there for some time and wiring was dated. This posed a challenge for our technician and project estimator when deciding what lighting could be installed to make the area illuminate during hours of darkness.
Solution
After tracing out the current exterior lighitng in the area, we were able to install new wall packs where they were previously placed with LED type lighting that gives out more light in a larger area with less energy used. This allowed for the lighting that was necessary to see at night as well as gave the company a larger savings on their energy bill. The LED lighting will also help with longevity of the lighting itself as LED has a much longer life than incandescent lighting.
LEDs are notable for being extremely long-lasting products. Many LEDs have a rated life of up to 50,000 hours. This is approximately 50 times longer than a typical incandescent, 20-25 times longer than a typical halogen, and 8-10 times longer than a typical CFL. Used 12 hours a day, a 50,000 bulb will last more than 11 years. Used 8 hours a day, it will last 17 years.
We have also been able to provide customers with rebates from their local energy company. To find out what you can save please contact our office at 1-315-331-9034 or contact RGE rebate program at: https://www.rge.com/UsageAndSafety/usingenergywisely/eeps/cirp.html
