Photo Album: Service Upgrade and Safety Issues Repaired, Wolcott
Marlock Electric was originally contacted to upgrade the electrical service from a 100 amp to a 200 amp service, but upon arrival, our project estimator noticed mutliple safety hazards that needed to be fixed. The homeowner's fuse box wiring was very unsafe and messy, as well as the other wiring in the basement. Our crew also noticed the need for GFCI outlets for the washer and a 4 conductor for the dryer, and installed them as necessary. Our technicians replaced the fuse box with a 200 amp service, which ran into the electrical panel in the basement on the North side of the home, and a 100 amp sub panel was installed on the other side of the home. Lighting was upgraded in the basement, and all safety issues were repaired and inspected.

Meter Relocated to North Side of Home
This meter was relocated to the North side of the home and runs to the electrical panel in the basement.
GFCI Outlet and 4 Prong Conductor
New GFCI outlet and 4 prong conductor which are much safer options. GFCI outlets should be in all locations of the home that have a sink or other type of water hook-up close by. 4 prong conductors are much safer and better able to prevent electrical shock.
Junction Box
Previously, a disconnect was being used in place of a junction box with wires hanging down over the plumbing and was very dangerous. Our technicians re-wired everything and put connections inside of a junction box to ensure safety in the home.
